Do undergraduates participate in research? Is this common or expected?

More than half of Lynchburg students do research with faculty.

Yes and yes! Our expert professors are well known for helping students really connect with what they’re studying. One of the ways they do this is by inviting undergraduate students to participate in graduate-level research.

In fact, more than half of all Lynchburg students do research with faculty.

Our students have:

  • Studied models accurately predicting winning times of Tour de France stages
  • Researched the science behind World Cup soccer ball selection
  • Examined the effects of hits to the head that can occur during athletic events
  • Studied the life of Winston Churchill while on study abroad in England
  • Presented their research at conferences in Europe
  •  Used their research to help get into graduate school
